INTERVIEW BY GIÒ: 

TO DIPO,  AEROGRAPHIC ARTIST

Giò: Hello Dipo, what do you mean for you to be an artist?

Dipo- Hello dear, over all, tank you very much for your great availability and for the time 

you decided to lose for me… eh eh, your first question is the typical million dollar question!!

Hours could not be enough to talk about this to you…

To be an artist means for me can talk to the entire world without speak any word, 

transmitting my sensations and my emotions to anyone look, 

all in a extremely NATURAL way, this means that who look must understand 

immediately what I mean, without kilometric reasoning or complicated philosophies..

The Art must be a pleasure, emotions, sensations, joy or tears, 

all to heart and brain simultaneously, in a simply and natural way..

Giò: Which renounces and which liberties did this choice involve?

Dipo-A lot of renounces!

I leaved almost everything for my art..

I rarely go out, because to be out is lost time that I don’t dedicate to my will to create, 

and also in the time passed in office, considering that I can’t live entirely of aerography, 

there is much anger, my mind is always in the color or in the subject suspended…

I lost also girlfriends

But now I find my way to be and my communication craft…

Now I’m more live and more rich than ever

And above all, I CREATE FOR ME, I don’t live undergoing the world around me…

Giò: Which techniques do satisfy better your creativity?

Dipo-AEROGRAPHY!!

A word that almost nobody knows, neither me knew its mean just 4 years ago… 

now it’s all my life because in that sprayed color I ALWAYS put myself

My past come from artistic lyceum.. where I had only difficulties.. 

the methods imposed gave me nothing…

This technique gave me all I ever searched and I never found before

The aerography DON’T FORGIVE

You can’t go wrong.. it’s not allowed..

Either artistically, either technically, that is treatment and preparation 

of surfaces and bottoms or final transparencies..

To make the wrong preparation of bottom 

or to make the wrong final transparency can compromise the entire work…

Therefore is not enough to be able to paint and draw very well..

The Aerography must be loved and vitiate, maybe not too much, 

and it give you great satisfactions, because it’s always an heat with yourself at every line..

Giò: What do you think about transgression and about the artistic free expression?

Dipo-If an artist is not free to express himself, he ought to dedicate his time to something else…

And if in his expressive language there is transgression, he have to follow his instincts

The instinct is the thing that give you emotions.. it must be ALWAYS followed

Giò: Which relations do you have with the artist men?

Dipo-Very professional and friendly relations

I knew international masters of aerography, and I had the sensation to be with long time friends

I gave and received embraces and smiles to almost every aerographists I meet..

Exchange of tricks, techniques, confront of methodologies 

and critics ALWAYS finalized to the a better work.. 

Doesn’t exist envy, because the aerography is a limpid and clear 

technique that doesn’t hide anything..

Giò: And the relations with artist women?

Dipo-They are the better things ever happened to me

If I wish to divide my life with a woman, I should do it ONLY with an artist!!

I consider the woman as the perfect artistic work! Therefore she’s something superior.

Giò: Which is the relation between you and world you live in? Do you isolate yourself?

Dipo-Isolate myself??

Sometime, when I need it..

I never had fear of the solitude because I often lived together with it for a very long time..

I observe.., I study.. the world around me, 

I critic and I hate it but I know that if there is something good, I’ll see it!!

Giò: How do you live and express love? 

Do you feel yourself an artist also in interpersonal relations?

Dipo-Love??

It’s a word I forget since 1998..

However, an artist isn’t an artisan

An artist is thus 24 hours at day, 7 days at week.. ALWAYS!!

In every thing he think or say

Who “become an artist” only when have to “work” will be for ever only a good artisan..

So I ALWAYS dedicate my fantasy and my creativity to the woman I have in front of my eyes

Giò: Many peoples believe that artist have the head in the clouds, and you?

Dipo-..head in the clouds.. yes, surely..

but brain active and reactive and above all ALWAYS both feet firmly on the ground

I consider myself the last come, in order to never stop to grow.. it’s fundamental

Ehm……… what are we saying? Eheh

Giò: Do the virtual reality contribute to move us away from the reality around us or not?

Dipo-I’m not interested of the effects on the world around us

I’m interested of the effect on me

And I always LEARN and from EVERYTHING

Giò: The Computer has involved changes?

Dipo-At first, I thought so.. then, not so much…

I work with the PC, and it give me a salary..

Sincerely, I search “old” things

Those hand-made

With sweat

Those felt and wanted

Instead of PC, fundamental changes have been involved by PHOTOGRAPHY, 

above all by dear old slides

Giò: Is your City livable? Is it available for the artists?

Dipo-NO!!

Sincerely, I hate my city

I never liked neither the Country I live

I hope to have one day the possibility to get away from Italy, for ever!!

Giò: Your works, your artistic appointment, your expectations, your new researches, 

you can say everything you want…. Obviously a greeting at the end!

Dipo-My appointments are with THE PEOPLE

Little markets, auto and motorbike rendezvous, artistic events, evenings in pub or clubs

About one year ago I’ve entered in the FAMILY of Aerografia.it

And, through them, I made my first collective exhibitions, I knew BROTHERS from all Italy, 

and also internationals (America, England…)

I joined to important events like Hobby Show in Milan, Air Brush Show, Planet Creativity, 

where people saw me and began to know me..

Where I saw all surprised in front of this magical technique

Where I explained and talked about the meaning of AEROGRAPHY, a technique without limits

It’s possible to work on every kind of support, plastic, metal, glass, stuff, human body, 

with every kind of color (I know who made works with vine or with raspberry juice!!)

To diffuse aerographic culture is FUNDAMENTAL, because to see the snobbery 

of the other artists when they hear the word “aerographist” HURT VERY MUCH (is it fear??)

It’s sad to know that ordinary people don’t know what is aerography, 

confusing it with lithography, serigraphy… when people hears the word “aerography” 

often asks “What do you do?” as I came from an other planet..

The same people that, fascinated, filmed the stages while we was working live 

with the team of aerografia.it, asking me explaining, tricks, techniques, 

manage and preparation of surfaces, body and transparency techniques

It’s clear that people LOVE this artistic technique, when they SEE IT 

and LEARN TO KNOW IT !!

MY mission is to transmit and to diffuse my love for the aerography, to all the possible people..
